Yvette began on her tour course without looking up from her notebook. Reaching up she placed her glasses back down while reading. She idly waved a hand and Shugo's words.
"All the more reason to stay. The children need to be protected."
Humming quietly she turned the page in her book and glanced up to make sure she wouldn't run into any on comers.
The boy shook his head as he followed behind Yvette. He couldn't help but smile as he thought back to the memories they shared. Like the time Shugo hotwired and stole a teacher's car. He had skipped class and gone out to get the two some food. Of course he hadn't told Yvette about his antics until he had returned with food in hand. Snapping back to reality, the boy realized his gaze had shifted downwards towards the girl's hips. He looked up once more, shaking his hair into his face to cover his slightly red cheeks. She really had grown up.
Yvette looked over her shoulder and peered over the top of her glasses at the boy.
"Shu-Shun, it's really rude to call someone a brat."
Looking back forward she tucked her hair behind her ear before opening a door and waiting for Shugo to enter. Putting her glasses to the top of her head again, she gave the blue haired boy an odd look when he asked about dinner.
"Well if I won't be here grading papers, probably making whatever I feel like at my apartment. Give or take a few hours from around normal dinner time. Why?"

"Nicknames like that are why I started calling you a brat."
The blue haired boy looked away as Yvette called him by his old nickname. It had been almost 8 years since he had been called that. Since the last time he saw her before he was taken away to Anaheim. Shugo entered the room behind Yvette. He smiled down at the girl.
Yvette laughed then it died away when he asked her to dinner. Looking up at Shugo she felt her cheeks heat up ever so slightly but paid it no mind. She smoothed her pencil skirt almost giving herself an excuse to break eye contact.
"You don't even know how you'll adjust to the school or the students or how much work you'll have after class to keep yourself on schedule. How do you know you'll have time for a sit down dinner? Also this is the teacher lounge, don't bother trying to store food in here someone else always manages to eat or steal it. Although it's usually pretty quiet in here. So if you need a moment this is your place."
The blue haired boy stepped up to Yvette and smiled down at her. She was so cute when she got flustered. He had always enjoyed teasing the girl and seeing her reactions. Shugo hadn't quite realized just how much he had missed his old friend until seeing her again. After the first year at Anaheim, he had given up hope that he'd ever see any of his old friends again.
Yvette backed up to the door slightly and looked up at Shugo. She gently tugged on a lock of her hair while clearing her throat.
"We'll be seeing each other everyday not to mention we'll probably have the same lunchtimes. Also I don't know if it's professional to go on a dinner date with a co-worker."
She didn't know why but she suddenly felt very nervous. She usually didn't spew out excuses like this and she was kinda annoyed at herself for it. Biting her lip gently she shrugged slightly.
The boy felt a pit in his chest, and his eyes reflected it. None the less, he put up a smile towards his old friend. It had been too long he told himself. They had grown apart. It wasn't like they had really kept in touch while they were apart. She had moved on from the friendship. And it was better this way. He had to remain a lone wolf. It was far too dangerous for anyone to get close to him with his line of work. Especially a regular human. Shugo stepped away from Yvette to give her some space.
"I was messing around with you about the tour. I went here for a bit. Graduated early, but I think I can still manage my way around. I'll see you later."
Shugo continued to smile as he headed for the door. Once his face was out of Yvette's line of sight, his smile disappeared. He needed to focus on the mission anyways he told himself. Weed out the Apath.
Yvette felt the air in her throat catch when she saw his reaction. However she felt like she had been slapped in the face when he faked a smile at her. Then as he backed out of the tour she turned her head letting her hair cover her face. She headed out and readjusted her glasses while opening her notebook.
She tried to walk away but after bickering with herself for a while she turned and caught up with Shugo. Taking him gently by the arm she turned him to face her.
"Hey. I'm free, most weekends. So if you want to get some coffee or some lunch we can catch up then. Sorry. I just. Don't do much and the school, my work. It's my life at this point. So... Goodbye."
After clearing her throat she went to make a quick get away looking back at her notebook.
The blue haired boy was surprised when he felt his arm being grabbed. He looked down towards Yvette as she spoke. In his mind, he kept rationalizing how keeping her distant would keep her safer. How it would be better for her. How she wouldn't have to deal with it when he inevitably left again. But as Yvette pulled away, the boy acted on impulse. He put an arm around her waist, pulling the girl towards him by her hips. Shugo smiled down towards her.
"Alright. Saturday. Meet me at the mall at 12. By the fountain. Does that sound good?"
Completely not expecting to be grabbed by the waist or hips, she dropped her things and jumped. Gasping softly she looked up at Shugo her eyes still wide. It took a couple minutes to register what he had said but she simply nodded. She didn't trust her voice now that she was realizing the position she was in. Her face flushed three shades of red and she placed her hands on his chest while looking down.
The blue haired boy hadn't realized how close he had pulled Yvette in. He forgot to breathe for a moment as his heart thumped faster. As the girl placed her hands on his chest and said his name, his body froze up entirely, skipping a beat. Shugo reached his other hand up gently, brushing the longer strands of hair away from Yvette's face before resting his hand on her cheek gently. In that moment as he held Yvette in his arms, Shugo realized how beautiful the young woman was.
Yvette's breath shook slightly while looking back up at Shugo. She was almost deathly still with his hand on her face. He keeps doing things she doesn't expect. Although he was always like that. Who in their right mind would steal, or in his words borrow, a teacher's car? Him. Her mind was blank while looking up at him, anything she'd planned on saying had been squashed by his reaction. Biting her bottom lip gently she felt her flush creep down her neck. She had barely any interaction with people besides students, and coworkers that treated her more like a secretary than anything else. She'd kept to herself. She'd been so diligent in her job. Then here he came. Doing what he does best, making trouble. Honestly Yvette didn't even know how to handle this much embarrassment. It had been years since she'd endured anything like this.
"HEY YOU TWO! NO PUBLIC DISPLAYS OF AFFECTION AT SCHOOL!"
An older teacher with dark brown hair approached Shugo and Yvette. The boy recognized his voice from when he went to school here. Arose fucking Yamato. Shugo smiled down at Yvette and gave a small wink. He had a plan to get out of this. The boy brushed his thumb against Yvette's cheek gently, still not breaking eye contact with the girl.
"Not at all Mr. Yamato. It appeared Ms. Regis slipped. I caught her and just wanted to make sure she was okay. Seems she's a little light headed. But now that you're here. You should be able to help her to the infirmary."
The boy reluctantly let go of Yvette. If people caught them around each other too much at school, things could end up badly for them. So as much as he wanted to stay by her side and continue talking, the boy stepped away.
"I'll see you around."
Shugo turned around and began walking down the hallway.
Yvette's embarrassment was washed away by the flood of anger she felt. He would never change, so if he wanted to play it like this then so be it. After Shugo stepped away Yvette made a show of being unsteady and falling.
"I'm so sorry Arose. I feel faint. If you could help me to the infirmary that would be very helpful. I think it was when he scared me, treating me as if only someone to be pranked. I don't think he sees me as an equal because I'm just a student teacher."
Making it look like she was almost frustrated to tears, she made a show of trying to get back to her feet. She was a whole lot better at planning victim than before. He better be prepared.
