Sony was born in the Underground. She was one of the unfortunate lower class citizens who were deemed unworthy of government assistance due to their location and income level. As a result, her early life was hardly pleasant. With a mother who was always away and an absent father, Sony's first few years of her life were spent inside an empty run down apartment with no power or running water. Her ESPer potential became apparent at a much younger age than normal when an Apath broke into her home while fleeing from the Anaheim forces. At the age of five, Sony was a confirmed ESPer.

After that, Sony found herself suddenly taken from her mother. Whether her mother sold the girl to the government or they got rid of the woman is unknown. Either way, Sony isnt sure she wants to find out. The girl was adopted by a high ranking officer within the Anaheim Protection Force. Her upbringing was one of preparation for the girl. She is the prototype for a new type of Anaheim agent. A more militant ESPer that could make Scepter obsolete and bring more power to the Anaheim Protection Force. As such, Sony was trained from the moment of her adoption.

She enrolled in Anaheim Junior Academy at the age of eleven, one of the youngest enrollment ages to date with her adoptive father's influence. Sony has been the 'Face' of Specter and Anaheim Protection Force relations and often accompanies her father to events pertaining to both of the organizations. In the Acadmey, Sony always ranks within the top three of her class, and her practical exams are considered second to none. She even became the student council president at the age of thirteen.

Sony is viewed as the perfect student and the perfect future agent. However, there's a side most don't know to her. Sony will often not attend classes for a week a few times a year. While most believe she's going to do special training, her intense training regime and studying often have negative effects on her body. This causes her to collapse and be privately hospitalized. Sony doesn't seem to learn her lesson, as she continues to push herself to the breaking point.

After all, she's being raised as a weapon. The girl has been told that if she becomes useless, then her life will lose all meaning.
