Leilani is a loud, cheerful girl who doesn't take no for an answer. She loves meeting new people, then swindling them into buying her things, and if you're sitting all by yourself she's bound to pop up and talk your ear off. Leilani loves things that are sweet, and there are rumors going around that she lives entirely off of ramen noodles and candy. These rumors are entirely true, but that's mostly because Leilani is a terrible cook. If you want her to eat a real meal, you'll have to cook or buy it for her. Fortunately she has mastered the art of pouting, so guys and girls alike are often guilt tripped into giving her a free meal. Overall Leilani is a bright, happy go lucky girl who just wants to call the shots and lead the way. Oh, but don't upset her. Leilani has been known to make some terribly violent threats to those who upset her. All of which have in fact come to pass.....Leilani means absolutely everything she says, so if the girl says she considers you a friend, you know she'll back you forever. If Leilani says she's going to break both your arms and set your dog on fire, well.....you better be careful.

Leilani's parents spent most of their days traveling, rarely staying in one place for more than a year. This made Leilani's childhood pretty unstable, but her parents were kind and the adventures kept her excited, so the girl didn't mind too much. By the time she was twelve she had already visited all of the major countries of the world and could speak three different languages fluently: English, Chinese, and German. It was perhaps this fast paced upbringing that made Leilani so incapable of staying put for more than a minute.
Throughout her travels Leilani met all kinds of people and made countless friends, but as a kid she always said her best friend was her dad. The girl never knew very much about her father's work, though. Anytime it was brought up she was told he was a business man, and the subject was promptly changed. Even so, Leilani loved her father deeply. He always came up with the silliest games! When she was still no older than eight, she and her dad played hide and seek! Every time they saw a police officer, Leilani and her dad would both go hide. It always took him at least thirty minutes to find her! After hide and seek he would buy Leilani ice cream, or candy, or take her out for pizza. He was a pretty weird guy, but she couldn't have asked for a better father. That made things all the worse when she lost him.
She and her parents were living in America at the time, and driving out of state for summer vacation. Somewhere along the way, they got into a really nasty car accident. Leilani and her mother were both a little beaten up, but they were alright. Her father, however, didn't make it. They were both really sad for a while, but a lot of his old friends started showing up to help around the house and spend some time with Leilani All of her father's friends seemed like really serious guys, with suits and grumpy faces. But they were all pretty alright once you got used to them.
Leilani was eventually able to put that heartbreak behind her and move on with life. A couple of years later, she decided she wanted to strike out on her own for a little while. She wanted to explore the parts of the world that she had chosen, and see what it was like living on her own for a while.
